Understanding Panic Attacks and Anxiety Disorder

Has your friend been excessively nervous lately? Perhaps he's suffering from panic attacks and anxiety disorder. For people who don't experience this situation, understand those who are going through this maybe a little difficult but will make a great difference in your relationship with them. I know, I had a hard time understand my husband when I first learned that he's been having panic attacks that he' been trying to hide from me for several years. I was worried that it has gone worse and stepped into a higher level because the panic attacks frequency also increased along with the increased inconvenience it has caused us.

Panic attacks don't chose the time when they occur--even if you're in public place or enjoying a quiet moment with your loved one, it could be triggered. As someone who's been with a panic attacks victim for several years, I wish I should have known and understand earlier the symptoms so he could have avoided many more years of excessive anxiety disorder. Many years could have been spent on more meaningful and productive activities and quality life.

From my studies, I've learned that the most common symptoms or indications that a person has anxiety disorder if he constantly shows the signs of:

1. chest pains,
2. racing or pounding heart,
3. difficulty in breathing, dizziness,
4.light-headedness,
5. upset stomach or nausea,
6. hot flashes,
7. chills,
8. and numbness or tingling in the hands

What Can You Do to Alleviate the Suffering?

At some point in your life you might have wished you could take your loved one's place and suffer panic attacks to free him from suffering further. Well, you could wish and do BETTER! Here are just some of the many effective treatments for anxiety disorders.

One common class of drugs are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, known as SSRI’s. Examples of these drugs include Zoloft, Paxil, and Prozac, which are also commonly used in the treatment of depression. These medications affect chemicals known as neurotransmitters, which are used by the nerves of the brain to send messages to each other.

You can also utilize natural remedies for treating the anxiety disorder. The best thing to do is to consult your doctor so you can become more successful in treating it.

The most important thing in recovery is to let the panic attacks victim feel that they're wanted, loved and understood. Assure them of your genuine love and support and they'll be able to conquer all panic attacks.
